What Others Have Had To Say About Garbage Gone Glam

OUR TEAM MEMBERS
  • Danette MacGregor
    Graphics & Print

Danette and Kristen met in college art class and quickly became fast friends. Their friendship grew from the classroom to a working relationship in various different positions and industries. Working in a talent agency one year and art studio the next, both girls learned and loved collaborating together. With the years of experience in working together, the ladies would frequently use each others expertise and knowledge base for odd projects and events. Having a close friend to bounce ideas and creative musings proved to be invaluable as both have launched their own brands and businesses.

In addition to her work with Garbage Gone Glam, Danette serves as the Director of Calliope – Presence in Media, an “online presence” company that ensures your brand and image are consistent and professional across all mediums. She delivers a detail oriented, creative aesthetic, and formally educated layer to all of her projects. She loves working on small or large projects and truly finds personal and professional accomplishment in helping brands succeed. Focusing on  graphic design, print design, website design, writing, blogging, editing, social media, marketing and communications; Danette loves helping Garbage Gone Glam succeed and grow.

Danette shares her loves of art, fiction, and all things European with her two adventurous daughters, baby boy, and her Dr. Amazing husband. As if her work with Garbage Gone Glam and Calliope-PIM wasn’t enough, she also serves as a Docent at the Norton Museum of Art and writer for the blog, Chef & Chief.

    CEO/ Founder · Kristen Alyce
The Talent & Creativity Behind GGG
Kristen Alyce knows a thing or two about turning life-long dreams and passions into an actual lifestyle. As a child, Kristen’s imagination ran wild. She crafted Barbie clothes from old fabric, imagined long distant travels around the neighborhood with friends and a backpack, and when she couldn’t convince her parents to buy her the latest toys – she would make them by hand.

Kristen ventured to Florida from her home state of New Jersey in 2005. After earning a degree in Art Education she became what was one of her biggest influences as a child – an art teacher. For years she taught K-12 art in Palm Beach County and grew as she worked with her incredibly talented students. Eventually she had to choose teaching or furthering her dreams as a business owner and designer.

Kristen still gets to work with students as she travels to grade schools and speaks in front of thousands each year. She gets to inspire them to dream big and to think outside the proverbial box.

As a true renaissance woman, Kristen has worn many hats: photographer, artist, fashion designer, graphic designer, webmaster, social media guru, salesperson, backstage manager, producer, and the list continues. With an eye for style and fashion coupled with a particular soft spot for non-profit social causes, sparked the idea for Garbage Gone Glam in 2009. This fashion entrepreneur had a unique vision. It didn’t take long before Kristen’s upcycled designs made their way throughout the fashion community; from her local scene in Palm Beach to nation-wide venues from NYC to Las Vegas. This year the company reached Switzerland, France, and Italy during Milan Fashion Week!

  • Melissa Parkos
    Public Relations Coordinator
Melissa Parkos, usually referred to as Missy, wants to live in a world where emails are short, people smile more often and chocolate is left on her pillowcase…(every night).

As a marketing professional she’s been applauded for her relentless work ethic, ability to adapt to any situation, and her willingness to do whatever it takes to succeed. Her appetite for marketing started in college leading her to graduate both with a BA and MBA emphasis in marketing. The majority of her adult career was spent in the corporate world managing Marketing campaigns for the big box retailer, Best Buy. During her time at Best Buy she worked abroad in Shanghai, Istanbul, and Mexico City. She recently gave the “corporate” lifestyle up to move to South Florida with her family and start her own one-woman marketing firm (for now). She has experience in all aspects of marketing, but her true passion is to work with small businesses. She has a true knack at creating cohesive marketing plans to best fit her client’s objectives and goals. Her capabilities range from social media management, search engine optimization, content creation, event management, PR, and media (broadcast and digital) placement.

When she’s not rocking the Marketing world you can find her spending time with her family, running (usually pushing a stroller), traveling or drinking a good glass of wine, preferably an Argentinian Malbec.

She is extremely excited to partner with the Garbage Gone Glam team to continue building upon the awe-inspiring organization both Kristen and Michelle have created.
